V přeplněném a nevzhledném suterénu, hluboko v útrobách budovy Reynholm Industries se skrývají Roy a Moss - pracovníci oddělení informačních technologií, zlořečení i vysmívaní svými bezohlednými kolegy. Jejich život ve světě serverů a protipožárních překážek je násilně přerušen příchodem nové personální manažerky Jen, která toho ví o počítačích asi tolik jako lama (nebo kterýkoliv jiný sudokopytník). Jen nemá zájem pracovat v ubohém suterénu a Roy s Mossem nechtějí pracovat pod někým, kdo nerozumí BASICu a nikdy neslyšel o dvojkové soustavě.
