Dokument zachycující začátky, zlaté časy a pád slavného kalifornského studia Sound City, které svým analogovým přístupem k nahrávání desek nemohlo konkurovat nástupu digitálního věku Pro Tools. Po uzavření komplexu odkopil Dave Grohl konzoli Neve a společně s hudebními legendami (např. Paul McCartney, Rick Springfield, Trent Reznor ...) natočil speciální album Real To Reel, zdůrazňující lidský element v procesu tvorby songů, který analogový způsob umožňuje a zároveň tak zdůraznil důležitý přínos, který Sound City v hudebních dějinách zanechalo.
