Film, inšpirovaný satirickou knihou Rudolpha Ericha Raspeho, sa začína v malom mestečku, kde herci pre potešenie ministra vojny a jeho priateľov hrajú predstavenie o neuveriteľných dobrodružstvách baróna Prášila. Vtedy do miestnosti vstúpi starý vojak, tvrdiaci, že je skutočným barónom Prášilom a začne skutočnosti, spomínané v predstavení, uvádzať na správnu mieru. Výsledkom je fantastické rozprávanie, ktorého krásna výprava a množstvo trikov odrážajú bujnú obrazotvornosť kultového režiséra a členy skupiny Monty Python's Flying Circus Terryho Gilliama. (STV)
