Lady Guinevere (Julia Ormond) cestuje do Camelotu, aby sa stala manželkou hrdého kráľa Artuša (Sean Connery) - týmto sobášom totiž zaistí svojmu kráľovstvu ochranu pred agresívnymi vpádmi svojho suseda, princa Malaganta (Ben Cross). Ten sa samozrejme len tak ľahko nevzdáva - chystá sa ju ešte počas jej cesty prepadnúť! Našťastie je však práve nablízku chrabrý rytier Lancelot (Richard Gere), ktorý krásnej dáme v ťažkostiach rád pomôže – a nie naposledy! Keď sa totiž zákernému Malagantovi podarí krásnu Guinevere uniesť, je to práve Lancelot, ktorý ju zo zajatia vyslobodí! Spoločne prežité ťažké chvíľky oboch mladých ľudí naveky spoja – a hoci Lancelot sľúbi Guinevere večnú lásku, mladá kráľovná nechce a nedokáže podviesť svojho manžela, ktorému prisahala vernosť. No stačí jediný bozk na rozlúčku a kráľ si situáciu nesprávne vysvetlí... Jediným ako-tak dôstojným východiskom z nej ostáva už len súboj na život a na smrť... (TV Doma)
