Inšpektor Yoann Peeters (Yoann Blanc) sa po niekoľkých rokoch vracia do rodného mesta v Heiderfeld, aby nastúpil na tamojšie policajné oddelenie. Dôvodom jeho návratu nie je len smrť manželky, ktorá trpela závažnou chorobou, no najmä nezvládnutá policajná akcia pod jeho velením, počas ktorej zahynuli štyria policajti. Vytúžený kľud však nenachádza ani v malom mestečku, v ktorom sa hneď po jeho príchode objavuje mŕtvola mladého futbalistu. Neskúsený kolektív tamojšieho oddelenia chce tragický prípad uzavrieť ako samovraždu, no Peeters hneď od začiatku tuší, že nie všetko je tak, ako sa na prvý pohľad môže zdať. (*CARNIFEX*)
