Jonathan Pine je oddaným nočným recepčným v luxusnom hoteli v Káhire. Jedného dňa ho osloví manželka majiteľa hotela, Sophia Alekanová, s tým, že má dôkaz o tajnom obchode so zbraňami. Recepčný Pine urobí to, čo považuje za správne a skontaktuje ju s priateľom, ktorý pracuje na Britskej ambasáde. Informácie o ilegálnom obchode so zbraňami sa dostanú do rúk k vládnej agentke Angele Burr, ktorej snahou je zničiť impérium veľmi vplyvného dealera so zbraňami Richarda Ropera. Recepčného Pina tento krok nevedomky vtiahne do nebezpečného sveta a podarí sa mu infiltrovať do Roperových najužších kruhov. Dostane sa do klaustrofobického a paranoidného prostredia, v ktorom nikto nemôže veriť nikomu. (STV)
