Seriál vypráví příběh černé jazzové kapely Louis Lester Band v době jejich vzestupu ke slávě, kdy baví hosty na exkluzivních večírcích v Londýně 30. let. Když však manažer kapely Wesley vznáší stále více a více požadavků k hotelu, ve kterém hrají, je vyhoštěn ze země a hudebníci jsou nuceni pokračovat bez něj. Po jejich účinkování na večírku pro prince z Walesu jejich hvězda dále stoupá a vynáší je až na vrchol slávy. To se má ale brzy změnit. (mac000)
