John Lithgow a Bob Hoskins jako Don Quijote a Sancho Panza v nejnovější adaptaci proslulého románu Miguela de Cervantese. "Don Quijote je blázen, ale jeho bláznovství má podobu přání, aby svět byl lepší.," řekl před nedávnem při natáčení nejnovější verze slavného románu ze 17. století představitel titulní postavy John Lithgow. To je možná také důvod, proč populární herec do více než dvouhodinového klasického přepisu Cervantesova fantazijního příběhu o proslulém rytíři a jeho zbrojnošovi vstoupil také jako výkonný producent. Vedle něj uvidíme ve filmu natočeném ve Španělsku s pomocí zvláštních efektů celou plejádu slavných. Věrného Quijotova druha, sluhu Sancho Panzu, ztvárnil Bob Hoskins, postavu Dulciney svěřil režisér Peter Yates Vanesse L. Williamsové a v roli vévodkyně uvidíme Isabellu Rosselliniovou.
