Po smrti manžela Camille žije pod jednou strechou so svojim jedenásťročným synom Martinom a svojou mladšou sestrou. Chlapec, ktorý od smrti otca sotva prehovoril, sa matke zdôverí, že si našiel nového kamaráta menom Jeff. Keď chce u Jeffa prespať, Camille na tom nevidí nič zlé a súhlasí, keď však syna ide nasledujúci deň vyzdvihnúť do školy, po chlapcovi nie je ani stopy.
