Biografia (1)
Celým jménem Gladys Constance Cooper se narodila v londýnské čtvrti Lewisham jako jedna ze tří dcer novináře Williama Fredericka a Mabel Cooperových. Větišnu svého dětství strávila v Chiswicku, kam se její rodina přestěhovala. Poprvé se objevila na divadelním jevišti v roce 1905 v muzikálu Seymoura Hickse Bluebell in Fairyland.
