Začínající 70. léta dvacátého století. Britská tajná služba dostává od přeběhlého plukovníka KGB informaci o připravované rozsáhlé ruské operaci s kódovým označením Sklo a vytvoří uzavřenou pracovní skupinu, která se jí má zabývat. Do hry ovšem velmi záhy vstupují morální dilemata, vzájemné řevnivosti a soukromé agendy jednotlivých aktérů.
Britská šestidílná špionážní série Hra svým zpracováním a atmosférou odkazuje k mistrovskému špionážnímu thrilleru Tomase Alfredsona Jeden musí z kola ven (2011), natočenému podle literární předlohy Johna le Carrého. Kromě propracovaného scénáře Tobyho Whithouse – v jehož podání každá epizoda představuje relativně uzavřený celek, na jehož konci se otevírá zcela nový level celkové hry – série vyniká dokonale navozeným retro pocitem a zvláštní melancholickou atmosférou.
